Eligibility Criteria for SBOTS

To be considered for the State Bank Officers Training Scheme, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Educational Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree: (16 years of education) from a University recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
  • Minimum Marks: 60% marks in Annual System OR a minimumCGPAof 2.5 out of 4.0 (or 3.5 out of 5.0)

The SBOTS Selection Process

Reaching SBP level is not an easy job; the recruitment process is very strict and based on merit. The departmental entrance is tough with competitive off 40 odd candidates for one seat. The following are steps to the final exam;

  • Written Test: Those selected will be required to take a written test comprising of:
  • English Composition: Evaluation of one’s sense of grammar, ability to comprehend, and writing skills.
  • Quantitative Skills: Assessing a candidate’s mathematical and analytical abilities.
  • Current Affairs / Intelligence / General Knowledge: Out testing knowledge of events in your own and other countries.
  • Group Discussion: Shortlisted candidates called for group discussion. This test is conducted to test communication skills, team work, and leadership qualities.
  • Interview: Will be conducted only if you qualify in the group discussion. Thereafter you will be called for the final Interview with the selection board.

Pre-Induction Training at NIBAF

Supervised Hands-On Training

Following the theoretical phase, the trainees (now as OG-2 officers) proceed to Supervised Hands-On Training phase (SHOT). During this phase, they get working experience in various departments of State Bank of Pakistan and in certain commercial Banks/ DFIs.
